Nauvoo 2009

Sunset by the Mississippi

We thought the number by the older Sisters and their walkers was so funny!

Vocal Point

Aimee and Alex had fun with the statues.

At Carthage.
Note the change in Aimee from 2005

It was interesting learning about oxen.

Before school started back up we did a mini family summer vacation. We took 3 days and went to Nauvoo and Carthage, Illinois. It was a very pleasant trip with many memorable experiences. We arrived late afternoon after all the touring places were closed. So we walked around waiting for the performance of Sunset by the Mississippi followed by the BYU group Vocal Point. What an awesome way to start our trip. The next day we toured Nauvoo and of course had to make a trip to the fudge shop. That night we saw the play Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo put on by the older missionaries. Before going home we visited Carthage--what a touching tour! Then back to Nauvoo for an ox ride and then we walked down to the Mississippi River and thought about how the Saints left Nauvoo.
