Construction or Destruction?

Our next, and hopefully the last, major remodeling project has begun. We pray that the weather will allow us to complete this before winter sets in. As our project progressed our plans changed. Our front steps have been falling apart and we've been getting water in the basement. Kip was going to add concrete to the existing steps, but changed his mind. He was going to add wooden steps over the existing steps, but they were leaning in to the house and so was the sidewalk. So out came the steps and sidewalk. At this point we decided now would be the time to tackle the leak, so out came the dirt and we lost our front lawn in the process. Oh dear! We discovered some holes in the foundation. Alex thinks the rebar from the steps punctured the foundation and evidence shows that he's probably right. So after patching and tarring--hey, I--Teresa, did that so I did make a contribution to this project besides whining. Now that the destructive process is done, we are debating just how to go about this. So....watch for further reports.
