It has been a long time coming, but as you can tell, I am trying to get our blog up a running so a lot of catch up pictures. For those who do know and those who don't our Bathroom saga follows.
Our Bathroom/snowball project: We were having leaks. Kip would caulk and caulk, but it was still leaking. We discovered our shower wall was wearing out, so we felt it had better be replaced. 2 1/2 weeks ago Kip pulled the shower wall off and we went to the store and mulled over walls and decided on one. That one wouldn't work because of cutting to fit around the window and so we decided we'd go with the one we wanted and cover up the window--but that needed to be applied to the studs--so out comes the sheet rock. Actually that would have come out anyway to replace the sheet rock with green board. That's when we discovered the other leaking was in the faucet area--so replace the faucet. Out comes the old window and now we have plywood there. Out comes the insulation. That's when we discovered that when the water was hitting the edge of the window it was going behind the shower wall and created mold on some of the studs. We had a problem we didn't know about, so it's good to get that taken care of. We had to order a smaller window--3 weeks to get here, and put in a bathroom fan--had to be ordered--2 weeks. Now we need to replace the plastic tile on the bottom half of the bathroom walls. The floor is also wearing out and we knew that but wanted to deal with it later. Well, it's later, because when we replaced the tub--yes, we replaced the tub--it tore up the vinyl. Since Kip has been talking about replacing the tub someday and we were down to the studs--it was the time to do that. That was not fun to get that heavy cast iron out. Now it's sitting in our yard and camouflaged nicely with white snow. So, since we are to this point and our vanity is wearing out--do we replace that now so that the wall and floor match up? Yup, it has snowballed. Started out with a Saturday project of replacing the shower wall. It's going oh so slowly. An hour here and there. It did take Kip 5 hours to redo the plumbing for the faucet--so it is time consuming.
